About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The CNA performs multi-skilled duties within the limits of training and certification in caring for the patient. This role assists the nursing team with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of patients. Responsibilities include assisting patients with personal hygiene, dressing, and walking, changing bed linens, and assisting with patient transportation to tests and procedures. The CNA may also serve and collect food trays, provide between-meal nourishment, and record temperature or vital signs under the direction of a nurse.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED required.
  • Currently registered as a Certified Nurse Assistant in South Carolina; must be current in the Nurse Aide Registry.
  • Must maintain American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of patient care experience in a health care facility or as CNA is preferred.
  • Crisis prevention training may be required based on department requirements.
