This position provides basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff. Duties include taking vital signs, bathing, dressing, moving patients, changing linens, and other assigned tasks. The role involves obtaining information on patient condition as requested by nursing staff and reporting any changes. The unit, 200 Medical-Surgical, is a 30-bed unit caring for a diverse patient population from young adults to over 100 years old, admitted from various departments. The unit specializes in medical, surgical, and gynecologic/oncology care, with common procedures including hysterectomies, mastectomies, bowel resections, and oncology surgeries. Chemotherapy may be administered, and patients might require telemetry monitoring or oxygen support.
