About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides compassionate, safe, and respectful care to patients under the direction and supervision of licensed nursing staff. The CNA assists patients with activities of daily living, monitors and reports changes in patient condition, maintains a clean and safe patient environment, and supports the nursing team in providing quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification in the State of Utah.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain certification within the required timeframe.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and accurately document patient information.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, compassion, and confidentiality in a healthcare environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous healthcare or patient-care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic patient care and assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
  • Assist patients with meals and provide feeding assistance as needed.
  • Take and accurately document vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
  • Assist with positioning, transferring, ambulation, and use of mobility equipment according to patient needs and facility procedures.
  • Observe patients for changes in condition, behavior, or physical status and promptly report concerns to the appropriate nursing staff.
  • Maintain patient comfort, privacy, dignity, and safety at all times.
  • Assist with maintaining clean, organized, and safe patient rooms and care areas.
  • Answer call lights promptly and respond appropriately to patient requests.
  • Assist nursing staff with patient care procedures within the CNA's scope of practice and training.
  • Accurately document patient care and other required information according to hospital policies.
  • Follow infection prevention and control procedures, including proper hand hygiene and use of personal protective equipment.
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with patients, families, visitors, and members of the healthcare team.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
  • Participate in required training, education, and competency assessments.
  • Follow all hospital policies, procedures, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
