About The Position

Job Title: Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) – Acute Care (Med/Stroke Unit) Employment Type: PRN / 4 shifts in a 6-week schedule Shift: Night Shift / 7PM-7AM Location: Germantown, MD Position Purpose: Reporting to the Director of Acute Care, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) must demonstrate the passion to provide bedside care to a diverse and acutely ill population. The CNA works in a collaborative environment at Holy Cross Health to deliver excellent patient care assistance under the supervision and direction of a designated health care professional in accordance with policies and procedures. Requirements

• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board for Certified Nursing Assistant
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• BLS certification (issued through the American Heart Association).
• Computer skills (internet, email, wireless phone, electronic health record) and technical skills (blood sugar, vital sign, and EKG machines).
• Be physically able to pull, push, turn and position patients.
• Superb interpersonal, customer service and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize, ability to work well with individuals and groups.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of CNA experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• As delegated by a licensed nurse, performs essential duties appropriate to role while assisting with basic to complex patient care needs.
• Participates in direct one-to-one patient observation to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Assists delegated care team in keeping detailed records, clear communication and working with patients and families.
• The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) may be assigned to function in either the Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) or Nursing Assistant role.
• Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responds to inquiries or requests for information; and assists the immediate supervisor with tasks to support department operations.

• Pay Range: $18.65 – $23.85.
• Pay is based on experience, skills and education.
• Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
• The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location
