About The Position

CoxHealth is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or Nurse Assistant Trainee to join their team on the Day Shift. This role involves providing basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, assisting with bathing, dressing, and moving patients, changing linens, and other assigned duties. The position also requires obtaining information on patient condition and reporting any changes. For trainees, the role functions within a classroom and clinical learning environment to gain training as unlicensed assistive personnel, with duties performed under supervision. A competency assessment will be administered at the end of the training program.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Preferred)
  • 3 months experience as a nursing assistant in an inpatient or long-term care setting, EMT, or Surgical Technologist in the past 3 years OR Completed an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel Program within the past 3 years OR Completed the “fundamentals of nursing” course with clinical in an accredited nursing program or practical nursing education program OR Must have Missouri CNA License OR Must have MO CNA Appendix
  • BLS must be obtained within 90 days
  • MO CNA license must be obtained within 120 days of hire
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exhibits valuable time management skills
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Is available for work on a consistent and timely basis
  • Conscientious, thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing and completing job tasks

Responsibilities

  • Functions within a classroom and clinical learning environment to obtain training as unlicensed assistive personnel.
  • During clinical rotation, may perform duties such as taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, changing linens and other duties within their scope of practice as directed.
  • While in clinical setting, obtains information on patient condition as requested by the nursing staff or clinical educator and reports any changes in patient condition.
