About The Position

This is a Certified Nurse Assistant position at the Uintah and Ouray Health Center, an ambulatory 40-hour facility. The facility provides comprehensive public health services including general medical, surgical follow-up, pediatric, prenatal, and postpartum care. Dental, behavioral health, and optometry services are also available. Other clinical specialties are provided by visiting consultants. Patients requiring more complex medical care are referred to the hospital or other contract facilities. Requirements

• Minimum of (2) years of experience as a registered nurse.
• Completion of a nursing assistant program and holding a nurse assistant certificate.
• Current certification in BLS (Basic Life Support).
• Active, unrestricted, and free of disciplinary action certificate/license as a nurse assistant in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient education.
• Manage medical equipment and supplies.
• Measure and assess vital signs, height, weight, neurological status, visual acuity, and hearing.
• Screen patients for alcohol dependence, depression, etc.
• Collaborate and coordinate patient care with other healthcare providers.
• Perform quality control for capillary blood glucose monitoring checks, fridge temperature checks, etc.
• Recognize life-threatening emergencies, initiate and maintain resuscitation measures and other emergency procedures as appropriate to the situation.
• Answer and screen telephone calls.
