Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs delegated tasks and procedures of patient care, involving the physical, psychological, social, emotional, safety and security needs of the patient according to the patient plan of care. Key tasks and responsibilities include performing basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities such as obtaining vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, blood drain management, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, and maintaining patient rooms are orderly. The role requires reporting findings or changes in patient condition to nursing staff, documenting in the Electronic Health Record, using correct body mechanics, judiciously using supplies and equipment, and maintaining a positive attitude. The position also involves presenting professionally, acting as a patient advocate, ensuring personal attendance and punctuality, maintaining a safe and supportive environment, seeking guidance when needed, supporting hourly patient rounding, maintaining required certifications, completing annual competencies, attending staff meetings, and assisting with other duties as requested.
