Certified Nurse Assistant | Intensive Care Unit | PRN
About The Position
Looking for meaningful work where every shift makes a difference? We’re seeking compassionate Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) or Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) to join our hospital care team. If you’re passionate about patient care and thrive in a fast-paced, supportive environment, we’d love to meet you! This PRN / “as-needed” role means you are not guaranteed a fixed schedule or hours. You work when there are needs in the schedule. You must be available to work at least 12 hours every two weeks (bi-weekly minimum), as specified in your PRN Commitment Agreement. Your actual hours will depend on department needs, not a set schedule. You may be asked to pick up extra shifts to cover gaps (like call-outs or shortages). Your total hours can go up or down—some weeks you might work more, some less.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Nice To Haves
- Currently registered as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in South Carolina
- Active status on the Nurse Aide Registry, if certified
- Completion of a CNA program (or willingness to complete within 6 months)
Responsibilities
- Assisting patients with personal hygiene, dressing, mobility, and comfort
- Supporting patient safety and daily living needs
- Recording vital signs as directed by nursing staff
- Changing bed linens and maintaining a clean, safe patient environment
- Transporting patients to tests and procedures
- Serving and collecting meal trays and providing between-meal nourishment
- Being a trusted, compassionate presence for patients and families
