About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the Detox department at AMERICAN BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SYSTEMS, INC. is responsible for performing vital signs checks, assisting with medication administration, and continuously monitoring the health and well-being of patients during the Detox and Treatment process. The CNA will report relevant physical and psychological events to the nursing and counseling staff, aiming to ensure a comfortable experience for all Detox and Residential clients.

Requirements

• CNA certification
• Must be able to communicate both verbally and in written form
• Must be able to use a computer keyboard
• Must be able to physically perform all necessary job functions
• Must be able to actively travel throughout the facility
• Must be able to work independently
• Must be able to work and communicate with other professionals in an effective and professional manner
• Must have appropriate time management skills
• Must be able to meet required deadlines
• Must be able to work under stressful conditions

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with mental health/substance abuse preferred

Responsibilities

• Performing vitals
• Assisting with medication administration
• Constant monitoring of patients’ health and well-being during the Detox and Treatment process
• Reporting relevant physical and psychological events to the nursing and counseling staff
• Ensuring as comfortable an experience as possible for all Detox and Residential clients
• Assures that all ABHS’ clients’ needs are met with dignity and respect and in a timely manner
• Makes decisions based on the welfare of the client, the success of the team, and the quality and integrity of the program
• Understands and facilitates federal confidentiality laws, 42 CFR, and protects client confidentiality/anonymity, and assures no information is shared without proper authorization
• Ensures compliance to contractual obligations, ABHS policies, and State statues (WACs)
