About The Position

University Medical Center Urgent Care Center provides urgent care services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to patients of all ages. Under the supervision of a registered nurse, the CNA will assist with preparing patients for examination, performing EKG testing, point of care testing, and assisting with in-office procedures. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and a contributing member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Requirements

  • Completed Nurse Aide course and presents Nurse Aide Certification.
  • PCA or PCT certification also acceptable.
  • Must maintain a current BLS certification from American Heart Association.
  • Nursing student who has completed approximately one quarter of their nursing curriculum (LVN or RN) and clinical experience.
  • At least one year of previous/recent hospital Nurse Aide experience.

Responsibilities

  • Providing basic patient care under the supervision of a nurse.
  • Observing patients.
  • Recording vital signs.
  • Performing EKGs.
  • Reporting changes in patient conditions.
  • Preparing patients for examination.
  • Performing EKG testing.
  • Performing point of care testing.
  • Assisting with in-office procedures.
