About The Position
University Medical Center Urgent Care Center provides urgent care services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to patients of all ages. Under the supervision of a registered nurse, the CNA will assist with preparing patients for examination, performing EKG testing, point of care testing, and assisting with in-office procedures. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and a contributing member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Requirements
- Completed Nurse Aide course and presents Nurse Aide Certification.
- PCA or PCT certification also acceptable.
- Must maintain a current BLS certification from American Heart Association.
- Nursing student who has completed approximately one quarter of their nursing curriculum (LVN or RN) and clinical experience.
- At least one year of previous/recent hospital Nurse Aide experience.
Responsibilities
- Providing basic patient care under the supervision of a nurse.
- Observing patients.
- Recording vital signs.
- Performing EKGs.
- Reporting changes in patient conditions.
- Preparing patients for examination.
- Performing EKG testing.
- Performing point of care testing.
- Assisting with in-office procedures.
