This position is for the 200 Medical-Surgical unit, a 30-bed unit caring for patients admitted from various critical areas. The unit serves a broad age range and specializes in medical, surgical, and gynecologic/oncology care, offering diverse clinical experiences. Team members gain exposure to a wide range of diagnoses, building a strong, versatile skill set. The unit is known for its supportive, team-focused culture and offers professional development opportunities. For Qualified Candidates, the Nurse Assistant Training Program functions within a classroom and clinical learning environment to obtain training as unlicensed assistive personnel. While in the clinical learning environment, the trainee will provide basic patient care under the direction and supervision of a clinical educator and nursing staff. Duties may include taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, and changing linens within their scope of practice. The trainee will obtain information on patient condition as requested and report any changes. A competency assessment will be administered at the end of the training. The Certified Nurse Assistant/Nurse Assistant role involves providing basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff, performing duties such as taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, and changing linens. The role also includes obtaining information on patient condition and reporting any changes.
