About The Position

CoxHealth is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), Nurse Assistant, or Apprentice for their Adult Psychiatry department at Cox Medical Center Branson. This role involves providing basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff, including taking vital signs, assisting with bathing and dressing, moving patients, and changing linens. The position also requires reporting any changes in patient condition to the nursing staff. For qualified candidates, there is a sign-on bonus of up to $6,000, up to 40 hours of front-loaded Paid Time Off, and a relocation bonus of up to $3,000. A career ladder is also available. The Nurse Assistant Training Program is for individuals who want to obtain training as unlicensed assistive personnel, functioning within a classroom and clinical learning environment. While in the clinical learning environment, basic patient care will be provided under the direction and supervision of a clinical educator and nursing staff. Duties may include taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, and changing linens within their scope of practice. Information on patient condition will be obtained as requested and any changes reported. A competency assessment will be administered at the end of the training.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent
3 months experience as a nursing assistant in an inpatient or long-term care setting, EMT, or Surgical Technologist in the past 3 years OR Completed an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel Program within the past 3 years OR Completed the “fundamentals of nursing” course with clinical in an accredited nursing program or practical nursing education program OR Must have Missouri CNA License OR Must have MO CNA Appendix AND MO CNA license must be obtained within 120 days of hire
BLS must be obtained within 90 days
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exhibits valuable time management skills
Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.
Is available for work on a consistent and timely basis
Conscientious, thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing and completing job tasks

Responsibilities

While in clinical setting, obtains information on patient condition as requested by the nursing staff or clinical educator and reports any changes in patient condition.
