About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients, and helps maintain a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit. The role is at Central Maine Medical Center, part of Central Maine Healthcare, an integrated healthcare delivery system serving central, western, and midcoast Maine.
Requirements
- State-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
Nice To Haves
- Current phlebotomy certification upon hire.
- Current EKG certification upon hire.
- At least six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office.
