About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician works under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The CNA/PCT performs multi-skilled duties within the limits of training and certification in caring for the patient. Assists nursing team with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of patients. Assists patients with personal hygiene, dressing, walking. Changes bed linens and assists with patient transportation to tests and procedures. May serve and collect food trays and provide patients with between-meal nourishment. May record temperature or vital signs under the direction of a nurse. PRN / “as-needed” means you are not guaranteed a fixed schedule or hours. You work when they have needs in the schedule. You must be available to work at least 12 hours every two weeks (bi-weekly minimum), as specified in your PRN Commitment Agreement. Your actual hours will depend on department needs, not a set schedule. You may be asked to pick up extra shifts to cover gaps (like call-outs or shortages). Your total hours can go up or down—some weeks you might work more, some less.

Requirements

  • Currently registered as a Certified Nurse Assistant in South Carolina; must be current in the Nurse Aide Registry.
  • Maintaining American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) will be required.
  • Must be available to work at least 12 hours every two weeks (bi-weekly minimum).

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of patient care experience in a health care facility or as a CNA is preferred.
  • Crisis prevention training may be required based on department requirements.
