About The Position
The Certified Nursing Aide/Asst. (CNA) – Acute Care position at Community Medical Center is a full-time role working nights. The role involves supporting patients and community members by performing basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN. This includes monitoring vital signs, possibly taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output. The position requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. The CNA will assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living, report abnormal findings to nursing staff, and help maintain patient rooms and common areas.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current Montana CNA certification with current listing on the Montana Board of Nursing Nurse Aide Registry.
- Current American Heart Association BLS certificate or obtained within 90 days after hire date
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Nice To Haves
- Every third weekend and 1 major winter and summer holiday required.
Responsibilities
- Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possibly taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
- Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation.
- Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
- Assists with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean, and orderly.
