About The Position

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Northwest Arkansas is seeking a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) to join their team. This is a full-time, day shift position with a schedule of 3 x 12-hour shifts from 7 am to 7 pm, requiring availability on weekdays and weekends (not just Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a nursing assistant training course.
  • Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant.
  • CPR/BCLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum six months of experience in an acute care or long-term care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic patient care tasks including bathing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
  • Provide general nursing support such as positioning, lifting, turning, and using special equipment.
  • Assist with toileting needs using bedpans, urinals, commodes, or ambulation to the bathroom.
  • Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure, and intake/output measurements accurately and document in a timely manner.
  • Prepare patient rooms for admission and transfer, ensuring cleanliness and equipment readiness.
  • Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment with attention to ventilation and lighting.
  • Support patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures, including handling of patient belongings.
  • Answer patient call lights, phones, and pages, responding promptly and appropriately.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Perform basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possibly taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
  • Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation.
  • Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
  • Assist with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean and orderly.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
