Canyon Vista Medical Center is a 106 bed acute care hospital that strives to offer exceptional care to the Sierra Vista community. Our 10-bed Acute Rehabilitation Unit provides individualized, post-acute care for patients recovering from illness, injury, surgery, and other disabling conditions, with a focus on restoring physical, cognitive, and functional independence. In this CNA role, you will support an experienced interdisciplinary team dedicated to delivering intensive rehabilitation in a caring, culturally sensitive environment with the goal of helping patients safely return home.

Requirements

• Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of Arizona required
• BLS certification required
• Comfortable with frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hard/arm movements.
• Comfortable with regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.

Nice To Haves

• High School diploma preferred
• Handle with Care certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN or LPN, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements and recording intake and output.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation.
• Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Assists with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean, and orderly.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care; works flexible shifts or units as needed
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
