About The Position

Meets all resident and assisted living needs by actively assisting (to the extent of cross training and certification) in all tasks to meet identified needs. Clinical 1. Responsible for attending to personal hygiene and personal care needs of the residents of the assisted living, including but not limited to psychosocial and safety needs. 2. Supports residents in self care, and provides care as necessary for those unable to care for their own needs. 3. Follows universal precautions, proper infection control, sanitation and safety standards of practice in all work and activities. 4. Observes residents closely, identifying changing needs and conditions at first indication, and reports immediately to nursing or assisted living leadership as appropriate. 5. Consistently works with all assisted living team members, led by resident and family preference to meet the needs and desires of all assisted living residents. Dining Services 1. Helps to prepare and serve appropriate snacks and meals.       Requires certification in food handling. 2. Assists residents in traveling to and from the dining area for meals and in properly storing and retrieving any assistance devices (walkers, wheelchairs, etc.) used in ambulation. 3. Assists with food-related activities for the residents. Life Enhancement 1. Assists with the planning and organizing of social activities for individual residents, small groups and for the assisted living. 2. Continually seeks opportunities to support the social needs of all members of the assisted living through support, friendship and kindness. 3. Seeks opportunities throughout the day to facilitate spontaneous activities of resident choice and assisted living preference; accompanies residents in all activities of choice. 4. Continually seeks opportunities to share person interests and talents with members of the assisted living through both planned and spontaneous activities. 5. Housekeeping 1. Maintains clean spaces in the assisted living, including resident rooms and assisted living common spaces, as well as support spaces and equipment. 2. Maintains supply of all materials to meet resident needs in the household. Laundry 1. Provides assistance to ensure residents’ personal laundry is maintained in quality condition. 2. Coordinates work with the assisted living team members to ensure the personal laundry needs of the residents are met within the staffing resources of the assisted living. Performance and Professionalism Maintains professional presence when representing Trinity Woods nor; exhibits degree of professionalism consistent with standards in performance, behavior, and appearance. 1. Maintains confidentiality and privacy at all times according to policies and procedures; uses discretion when discussing confidential matters. 2. Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior with residents, families, co-workers, subordinates, supervisors, and other department staff. 3. Maintains positive working relationships with management and co-workers; willingly follows directions and requests as appropriate. 4. Exhibits professional standards through appearance and demeanor. 5. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of work assignments and performs in a manner to meet quality and timeliness objectives. 6. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures; seeks clarification or interpretation from appropriate supervisor when needed. 7. Uses tactful, diplomatic communication techniques in all relations with others. Professional Development Demonstrates professional development/skills competency in all activities. 1. Participates in in-services, projects, or committees as assigned. 2. Maintains all certifications necessary for employment. 3. Demonstrates flexibility, open mindedness, and versatility in adjusting to changing environments and requirements as necessary. 4. Commits to continually improving his/her skills through participations in education opportunities whether offered on the job, within, or outside of the community, to increase knowledge of work-related issues. 5. Maintains a current knowledge of federal, state and other regulations applicable to job. Safety and Security Complies with Trinity Woods’ established safety rules and practices. 1. 1. Complies with applicable safety policies and procedures as prescribed by the organization, as well as government regulations. 2. Reports any potential safety hazard(s) immediately to supervisor or other appropriate personnel. 3. Reports any injury of resident, visitor, or employee immediately to supervisor or other appropriate personnel.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year work experience in a long-term care environment preferred.
  • Meets all state and local requirements for certification as a Certified Nurse Aide and Food Handling.
  • Commitment to person-centered and resident-directed care is essential.
  • Completion of cross training for household activities, household housekeeping, household laundry and household homemaking, including food service and food handling required.
