About The Position

Harris Regional Medical Center is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for its Medical-Surgical unit. This is a full-time position on a 27-bed unit where compassionate, patient-centered care is a priority. The CNA will work collaboratively with Registered Nurses (RNs) to care for a diverse patient population, building strong clinical skills in a supportive environment. The role involves comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, treatment administration, and promoting patient comfort and safety, with a CNA-to-patient ratio of 1:12. The unit fosters teamwork, open communication, and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Current listing as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with the state of North Carolina Division of Facility Services.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Current Listing as a Certified Nursing Assistant with the state of North Carolina Division of Facility Services with no substantiated findings of abuse, neglect or misappropriation of property in a facility that provides Nursing Care.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possibly taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
  • Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation.
  • Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
  • Assists with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean and orderly.
