About The Position

Americare Senior Living is seeking a Certified Medication Technician to provide safe, accurate medication administration and compassionate resident care in a skilled nursing community. The role supports residents’ health, safety, and quality of life by administering prescribed medications, assisting with activities of daily living, and collaborating with licensed nursing staff and the interdisciplinary care team. Work must follow state regulations, physician orders, and Americare policies, with emphasis on resident safety, accurate documentation, and person-centered care. The position is based at Heritage Hall Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Community in Centralia, Missouri. Day shifts are listed as 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. with alternating weekends; occasional evening shifts may be required. The posting also describes full-time evening and part-time day opportunities, and notes that additional day-shift hours may be available by picking up CNA shifts.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a Certified Medication Technician (CMT) course approved by the State of Missouri.
Active CMT certification in good standing, with annual updates as required.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary care team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication safety.
Compassionate, resident-focused approach to care.
Clear communication skills and professionalism.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and assist with resident transfers as needed.
Ability to push, pull, and maneuver up to 100 lbs., including resident mobility assistance.
Ability to maneuver resident wheelchairs weighing up to 350 lbs.

Responsibilities

Administer prescribed medications under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
Verify resident identity before medication administration and document dosage, time, and observations.
Monitor residents’ responses to medication and promptly report adverse reactions or concerns.
Assist residents with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meals, and mobility.
Recognize and report changes in resident condition to charge staff.
Take and record vital signs and report abnormalities according to facility policy.
Identify medication shortages and immediately report concerns to the supervisor.
Maintain accurate documentation related to resident care, intake, and output as ordered.
Support coworkers by providing assistance as needed.
Complete admission, discharge, and transfer documentation as required.
Follow resident care and safety procedures, including using two-person lifts when required and required PPE.
Report work-related injuries immediately and complete required documentation.
Participate in company drug testing procedures.
