Certified Medication Technician
About The Position
The Certified Medication Technician administers medications, monitors vital signs, and assists with activities of daily living under the supervision of a registered nurse. The role ensures compliance with medication protocols and participates in audits and performance improvement activities. The technician accurately documents medication administration and patient observations while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality standards. The position also supports staff training, team meetings, and clinical operations, including equipment handling, supply management, and floating to patient care areas as needed.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Must be certified as a Medication Technician in the state where services are provided.
- Current CPR certification.
- Must maintain SRNA certification.

- One year of related experience in a medical environment is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and assist with activities of daily living under RN supervision.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs, symptoms, and behavior, and report abnormalities.
- Participate in audits, training sessions, and staff onboarding processes.
- Maintain medication supplies and medical equipment, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Float between units, assist team members, and uphold HIPAA confidentiality standards.
- Accurately document medication administration and patient observations.
- Attend team meetings and support overall clinical operations.
