The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) will be responsible for providing medication administration to residents under the direction of an RN. This includes assisting with personal hygiene, serving meals, feeding patients, ambulating, turning, and positioning patients, and providing fresh water and nourishment. The CMA will also provide adjunct care such as administering enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, and applying restraints. They will maintain patient stability by checking vital signs and weight, recording intake and output, and ensuring patient comfort by responding to call lights and reporting observations to the nursing supervisor. Documentation of actions, adherence to policies and procedures, and maintaining professional standards are also key responsibilities. The role involves updating job knowledge through educational opportunities and contributing to the enhancement of the nursing department and hospital reputation.
