About The Position

The Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156-bed long-term care facility located in beautiful Hanson, Kentucky that is committed to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity and providing compassionate care. We are looking for a self-motivated, energetic Medication Aide, who possesses the skills and desires to care for Kentucky’s Veterans. The ideal candidate will work within a team-centered environment. We offer flexible scheduling and holiday, weekend and shift premiums. This agency is prohibited from hiring employees with convictions identified in 906 KAR 1:190. A fingerprint- supported national background check will be conducted prior to an offer of employment. This position, in Hopkins county has an approved Locality Premium of $10.09 in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(1).

Requirements

Must possess current registration with the Kentucky Nurse Aide Registry as administered by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health Services and Kentucky Board of Nursing.
Must possess current certification as a Certified Medication Aide I as administered by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health Services and Kentucky Board of Nursing.
Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.

Responsibilities

Prepares, administers and charts medications and treatments.
Performs medical treatments under supervision of a licensed nurse.
Takes temperatures, pulses and respiration and records on patient’s chart.
Participates in treatment team meetings and provides first aide for minor injuries.
