About The Position

Brazos Towers at Bayou Manor, a faith-based, not-for-profit Life Plan Community with over 50 years of experience in senior living, is seeking a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join their team. Located near Houston's Museum District and Texas Medical Center, Brazos Towers offers a vibrant community with a continuum of care including independent living, assisted living, memory support, and skilled nursing. Requirements

  • Minimum Certified Medication Aide training.
  • Two years of experience working as a Certified Nurse Aide.
  • Some Long Term Care experience.
  • Awareness of the needs of geriatric residents.

Responsibilities

  • Provides nursing care according to Physician’s orders and in conformance with recognized medication aide practice, established standards, and administrative policies.
  • Assists in examinations and/or treatment of residents and carries out orders.
  • Assesses medication administration and notifies Assisted Living Nurse in the event of a change in the resident’s condition.
  • Accurately administers prescribed medications, responds to changes in medical condition, medications or other circumstances requiring special care needs and performs first aid as required.
  • Orients residents and staff to emergency procedures and responds to all emergency situations.
  • Completes and signs incident reports and provides follow-up as required.
  • Assures that all resident medication records are accurate, complete and all mandatory forms are on file.
  • Assures that medication aide care is practiced in full accordance with regulatory requirements, facility quality standards, and resident rights.
  • Monitors resident environment to ensure all safety and sanitary regulations and quality standards are met or exceeded.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
