About The Position

Brazos Towers at Bayou Manor, a faith-based, not-for-profit Life Plan Community with over 50 years of experience in senior living, is seeking a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join their team. Located near Houston's Museum District and Texas Medical Center, Brazos Towers offers a vibrant community with a continuum of care including independent living, assisted living, memory support, and skilled nursing. Requirements

Minimum Certified Medication Aide training.
Two years of experience working as a Certified Nurse Aide.
Some Long Term Care experience.
Awareness of the needs of geriatric residents.

Responsibilities

Provides nursing care according to Physician’s orders and in conformance with recognized medication aide practice, established standards, and administrative policies.
Assists in examinations and/or treatment of residents and carries out orders.
Assesses medication administration and notifies Assisted Living Nurse in the event of a change in the resident’s condition.
Accurately administers prescribed medications, responds to changes in medical condition, medications or other circumstances requiring special care needs and performs first aid as required.
Orients residents and staff to emergency procedures and responds to all emergency situations.
Completes and signs incident reports and provides follow-up as required.
Assures that all resident medication records are accurate, complete and all mandatory forms are on file.
Assures that medication aide care is practiced in full accordance with regulatory requirements, facility quality standards, and resident rights.
Monitors resident environment to ensure all safety and sanitary regulations and quality standards are met or exceeded.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
