About The Position

The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) plays a critical role in supporting healthcare teams by safely administering medications to patients in various care settings across the United States. The CMA works closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to monitor patient responses and report any adverse effects or concerns promptly. Requirements

• Current certification as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) recognized by the state of employment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a state-approved medication aide training program.
• Basic understanding of medication administration principles and safety protocols.
• Ability to pass background checks and meet health screening requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working as a CMA or in a similar healthcare support role.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation.
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and healthcare team members.
• Additional certifications related to patient care or medication administration.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications to patients according to established protocols and under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
• Monitor patients for side effects or adverse reactions and report any concerns to the nursing team promptly.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of medication administration, including dosages, times, and patient responses.
• Assist in educating patients and their families about medication schedules and potential side effects as appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations regarding medication handling and administration.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to support overall patient care plans and communicate any changes in patient condition.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of medication storage areas to ensure safety and accessibility.
