About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Aide to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assist with medication administration and patient care at a skilled nursing home. Your expertise will help ensure residents and patients receive safe, timely, and accurate medication management while promoting their overall well-being. Requirements

  • Valid certification as a Medication Aide (CMA) or similar credential recognized in your state
  • Prior experience working in skilled nursing homes
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and nursing practices related to medication administration
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Point Click Care for accurate documentation
  • Experience caring for individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments like dementia or Alzheimer’s disease is highly desirable
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced settings such as acute care or hospice environments
  • Willingness to work as a team to ensure residents are cared for.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security

Responsibilities

  • Safely administer prescribed medications to residents or patients following all protocols and HIPAA regulations
  • Monitor vital signs and observe for any adverse reactions or changes in condition during medication administration
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Records), Point Click Care experience preferred.
  • Assist with activities of daily living and other personal care tasks
  • Support residents with dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, and memory care needs through compassionate caregiving and engagement
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards related to medication storage, handling, and disposal
  • Document all medication activities thoroughly in medical records while respecting patient confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines
