About The Position

Family Health and Rehab is a dedicated Skilled Nursing Facility committed to providing residents with a homelike environment that promotes independence and well-being. Our facility features private rooms, welcoming communal spaces, and a professional rehabilitation team focused on enhancing quality of life for our residents. We are seeking a qualified Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our compassionate healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior care, nursing home, assisted living, or hospital settings, with expertise in medication administration and patient care. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents by ensuring safe and effective medication management within a supportive environment.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical documentation is essential.
  • A valid Certified Medication Aide (CMA) license is required.
  • Strong understanding of medication administration procedures and patient safety protocols.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Point Click Care is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of specialized care for individuals with disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or those requiring hospice support will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Administer prescribed medications accurately following physician orders and established protocols.
  • Monitor residents' vital signs and assess their responses to medication treatments.
  • Maintain precise medical documentation and update electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Point Click Care.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including mobility, hygiene, and nutrition support.
  • Observe and report any adverse reactions or changes in residents’ health status to nursing staff.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Provide compassionate care tailored to individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments.
  • Support hospice and palliative care efforts by delivering respectful and dignified medication administration.
