About The Position

Heritage Specialty Care, a 171-bed long-term care skilled nursing community located in Cedar Rapids, IA, is now hiring a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) for full-time evening shifts. This role is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others during their healthcare journey within the Care Initiatives network of over 40 skilled nursing communities throughout Iowa. The position involves supporting daily living activities, providing emotional support and companionship, monitoring health through medication administration and vital checks, communicating with residents, families, and the healthcare team, encouraging recreational activities, and adhering to infection control protocols.

Requirements

Active Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification in the state of Iowa, or the ability to activate certification.
Valid certification as a Medication Aide. Medication Aide must be valid within the state of Iowa, or ability to activate.
Strong commitment to resident care, professionalism, and teamwork.
Compassionate, patient, and respectful demeanor.

Responsibilities

Support daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and passing medications.
Deliver emotional support and provide companionship while fostering a positive and engaging environment.
Provide health monitoring by administering medications and conducting routine vital checks.
Interact and communicate with residents, families, as well as the healthcare team.
Encourage and facilitate resident recreational and therapeutic activities to enhance health and daily routines.
Adhere to infection control protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment for safety.
