Requirements

High School Diploma or GED is required.
Previous experience in a healthcare setting (e.g., long-term care, assisted living, or hospital) is strongly preferred.
Candidates without formal certifications may be considered based on relevant experience and demonstrated competency.

Responsibilities

Administer prescribed oral, topical, inhaled, and other non-injectable medications to residents/patients at scheduled times and in accordance with approved protocols.
Adhere strictly to the "Five Rights" of medication administration (Right Patient, Right Drug, Right Dose, Right Route, Right Time).
Observe and ensure medications are taken as directed.
Administer PRN (as-needed) medications under the direction of a licensed nurse, ensuring prompt and accurate documentation of the reason and patient response.
Ensure the proper security and storage of all medications, including controlled substances, and perform medication counts as required.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the medication preparation area and medication carts.
Accurately document all medications administered on electronic and/or paper Medication Administration Records (MAR/eMAR systems), noting dosage, time, and route.
Respond promptly to patient/resident calls and requests.
