About The Position

Kidney Specialist of Southern Nevada (KSOSN) is seeking skilled and detail-oriented Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to provide diagnostic testing services for our medical laboratory in Las Vegas, Nevada. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the diagnostic process by performing laboratory tests and analyses that aid in patient diagnosis and treatment. This position requires a strong understanding of laboratory techniques, medical terminology, and the ability to work efficiently in a clinical environment. This is an in-person, full-time position.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a laboratory.
  • Must be American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or American Medical Technologists (AMT) certified as a Medical Laboratory Technician/Clinical Laboratory Technician.
  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques including blood sampling, specimen collection processing, and clinical laboratory practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of clinical laboratory tests in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of laboratory practices, quality control, and quality assurance principles to support accurate and reliable diagnostic results.
  • Use independent judgment to analyze and interpret test results, ensuring high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment; perform routine maintenance and resolve instrument malfunctions.
  • Monitor and document the functionality of laboratory equipment, ensuring optimal operation.
  • Evaluate and resolve problems related to specimen collection, processing, or testing performance.
  • Validate and correlate test results; identify discrepancies and take appropriate corrective actions.
  • Perform advanced and complex laboratory procedures and assess deviations from expected results using scientific reasoning.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities using statistical principles and continuous performance evaluation.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, answering inquiries regarding test methodologies and results.
  • Support ongoing education, consultation, and teamwork within the laboratory and broader healthcare environment.
