About The Position

Kidney Associates of Kansas City is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller & Certified Medical Coder to join their team. This role is crucial for the entire revenue cycle, encompassing coding, claim submission, payment posting, and follow-up, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and optimal reimbursement. Requirements

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent certification
• 1–2 years of medical billing and coding experience required
• Strong knowledge of insurance processes, coding standards, and reimbursement procedures
• Experience with EMR systems required
• Must reside in the Kansas City area

Nice To Haves

• eClinicalWorks (eCW) experience preferred
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Review medical codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) for accuracy prior to claim submission
• Perform internal coding audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations and payer requirements
• Submit claims to insurance carriers in a timely manner
• Post payments and reconcile accounts
• Perform claims follow-up, including denials, corrections, appeals, and resubmissions
• Manage collections and outstanding balances
• Work across all aspects of the revenue cycle, not limited to coding
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and billing regulations
• Maintain accurate documentation within the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system
