About The Position

Cascade Community Healthcare (CCH) has been providing treatment services to Lewis County and surrounding areas for more than 50 years. Our mission is to provide our clients with compassionate and encouraging counseling leading to a renewed sense of hope and the ability to make positive changes and live more satisfying lives. Cascade currently has six treatment locations in Lewis County. This position is provides support to our provider within the Certified Medical Assistant's scope of practice. Care provided is for patients ages 14 and above. We are looking for someone that will be able to anticipate provider needs to facilitate the flow of the clinic. Good judgement, organizational ability, initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to be self-motivated are especially important. Must be adaptable and versatile since you will be responsible for many tasks. Good attendance is also an important element of this job.

Requirements

  • WA State Certified Medical Assistant Credential required.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to enter information into a computer network system.
  • Must comply with agency policies and procedures.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office “Suite”.
  • Must be able to represent the agency in a positive and professional manner.
  • Organized and able to work independently in a variety of settings.
  • Must maintain current contact information and mailing address on file with the HR office.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one-year experience in primary care preferred.
  • One-year experience using Electronic Health Record preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred (fluent in English and Spanish).

Responsibilities

  • Greets, receives, and prepares patients for appointments/procedures; conducts interviews with the patients, measures vital signs, and records information.
  • Perform routine laboratory/diagnostic tests on patients as provided by established protocol.
  • Provides vaccinations and other routine procedures under the supervision of the provider.
  • Set up for in-office procedures.
  • Maintains nursing stations and examination areas in a manner consistent with OSHA standards and Universal Precautions procedures.
  • Maintains inventory of medical supplies and materials.
  • Coordinates patient flow.
  • Prepares timely, legible, and complete documentation of all patient care as provided by the law, regulations, and established policy
  • Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures as they are being performed by the provider, including but not limited to: patient medical history and physical exams, procedures and treatments performed by healthcare professionals, patient education and explanations of risks and benefits, provider-dictated diagnoses, prescriptions and instructions for patient’s or family members for self-care and follow-up, prepare referral letters as directed by the provider.
  • Participates in quality improvement by collecting and organizing data for provider’s quality reporting system and other quality improvement efforts and format for submission.
  • Participates in continuing education to continually improve skills and abilities and stay up on of current technologies/practices.
  • Applies safety principles as identified by established policy.
  • Exhibits a high degree of courtesy, tact, and poise when interacting with patient’s, families, and other healthcare professionals
  • Adjusts to fluctuating peaks in patient flow, acuity, and other operational demands while maintaining quality.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Participates in the medical office emergency routine when required.
  • Participate in meetings or trainings as required.
  • Participate in cross support with any other location of Cascade.
  • Participates in other selected activities at the direction of Supervisor.
