About The Position

Precision Healthcare Specialists is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our growing Dermatology team. The ideal candidate is passionate about patient care, thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment, and enjoys working alongside physicians to provide exceptional dermatologic care. The Certified Medical Assistant will assist providers with medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology procedures while ensuring patients receive a positive and efficient healthcare experience from check-in through follow-up.

Requirements

  • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent nationally recognized certification.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of Medical Assistant experience in a clinical setting.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Dermatology experience.
  • Experience assisting with dermatologic surgical procedures.
  • Knowledge of dermatologic medications and skin conditions.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, medication lists, allergies, and chief complaints.
  • Assist dermatology providers with examinations, biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, wound care, and other in-office procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain sterile instruments and procedure rooms according to infection control standards.
  • Administer injections, medications, and vaccines as directed by the provider and within scope of practice.
  • Perform suture removal, dressing changes, and patient education regarding wound care and post-procedure instructions.
  • Accurately document patient encounters, treatments, and procedures within the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Collect, label, and prepare laboratory specimens for transport.
  • Coordinate prescription refills and prior authorizations as directed.
  • Assist with scheduling procedures and coordinating patient follow-up appointments.
  • Maintain examination rooms by stocking supplies and ensuring equipment is clean and operational.
  • Respond professionally to patient questions and telephone inquiries.
  • Collaborate with providers and team members to ensure efficient patient flow throughout the clinic.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations, OSHA standards, and all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the practice.
