This position primarily serves as a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), providing direct support to the provider and ensuring high-quality patient care.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant program
- Current CMA certification
- Current LVN license
- Current BLS certification
- Valid Texas driver’s license
Nice To Haves
- 1+ year clinical experience
- Experience with billing, coding, or insurance preauthorization
- Familiarity with eClinicalWorks or other EHR software
Responsibilities
- Triage and prepare patients for medical examinations.
- Administer medications, perform lab testing, and assist with procedures.
- Maintain clean and well-stocked treatment areas.
- Assist with referrals, preauthorizations, and scheduling when needed.
- Adhere to all HCHD safety, security, and compliance standards
- Support nursing and front office staff as required
- Communicate professionally with patients and staff while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Educate and counsel patients on treatments, medications, and testing
- Record and update patient history, medications, and vital signs in the EMR
