About The Position

Integrated Health Centers of West Virginia (IHCWV) is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for its Walk-In and Urgent Care Clinic. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, thrives on teamwork, and wants to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives. The CMA will play a vital role in delivering same-day care for patients with acute illnesses and minor injuries, gaining experience with a wide range of conditions in a collaborative setting. The clinic operates from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with team members working 3-4 twelve-hour shifts per week, offering multiple days off. IHCWV is expanding its services and this is an opportunity for career growth while increasing access to healthcare in rural communities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current Medical Assistant certification or registration
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program
  • CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Commitment to exceptional patient care and teamwork

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and room patients while obtaining vital signs and health histories
  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment
  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments
  • Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and other delegated clinical duties within scope of practice
  • Perform point-of-care testing and specimen collection
  • Assist with wound care, splinting, nebulizer treatments, and other urgent care procedures
  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms, supplies, and equipment
  • Educate patients regarding treatment plans and follow-up instructions
  • Document patient information accurately in the electronic health record
  • Coordinate referrals and assist with continuity of care activities
  • Support quality improvement and patient satisfaction initiatives
