About The Position

Merakey is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join their team at the Behavioral Health Urgent Care Clinic (BHUCC) in Philadelphia, PA. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with an hourly rate of $23.63. The BHUCC is a walk-in clinic for adults needing non-crisis, same-day care for emotional or behavioral health concerns. The clinic provides resolution-focused services and aftercare planning to support long-term recovery and connection to ongoing care, serving individuals regardless of income or insurance status. The goal is to reduce avoidable visits to crisis centers and emergency rooms by connecting individuals with needed mental health care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant is required.
  • Familiarity with medical screenings, biometric assessments, and vital signs monitoring.
  • Ability to administer medications, draw blood for labs and manage medication-related tasks, under the direction of a CRNP or prescriber.
  • Detail-oriented and organized to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle crisis situations calmly and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with individuals and colleagues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in behavioral health, urgent care, or similar environment is preferred.
  • Bilingual candidate is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides cross-clinic support including assisting with intake processes, medical screenings, medication administration, and medical case management.
  • Collaborates with the multi-disciplinary BHUCC team to ensure strong continuity of care.
