About The Position

Ascension Medical Clinic is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for their OBGYN Residency program in Pensacola, FL. This is a full-time, day shift position where you will play a crucial role in patient care. Your responsibilities will include rooming patients, taking vital signs, assisting with treatments and procedures, managing phone communications, maintaining patient records, and ensuring treatment rooms are prepared and organized. You will also be responsible for documenting diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions as directed by the provider, as well as transcribing patient orders for tests and medications.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Medical Assistant obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
At least one year of experience in a Medical Clinic or Medical Group setting.
Demonstrated experience with patient rooming procedures.

Responsibilities

Proficiency in patient rooming protocols, conduct patient intake, measure vital signs, and assist the care team with treatments and procedures as directed.
Manage phone communications, maintain patient records, and assist with supply inventory, ordering, and stocking.
Ensure treatment rooms are prepared for examinations and the clinical area is clean and well-organized.
List all proper diagnoses and symptoms, including follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider.
Transcribe patient orders including, but not limited to, laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications.
