About The Position

Non-Profit Yakima Neighborhood Health Services (YNHS), established in 1975, serves patients in various areas including Behavioral Health, Family Dentistry, Internal Medicine, Women’s Health, Primary Care, Pediatrics, Vision Care, and Pharmacy. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
Experience as a medical assistant or certificate of CMA or CNA completion, or willingness to learn.
Skill in customer service.
Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Skills in data-entry.
Ability to speak clearly and concisely.
Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instruction.
Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetical or numeric systems.
Bilingual English/Spanish required.
Candidate has not been sanctioned or excluded from participation in federal or state healthcare programs by a federal or state law enforcement, regulatory, or licensing agency.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for examination and treatment.
Take patient histories and vital signs.
Document information accurately using appropriate forms and charting format in health care information record.
Perform intake procedures and assist providers with patients as directed by Medical Assistant Supervisor and YNHS providers.
Maintain patient confidentiality.
Assist with patient follow‑up activities, including referrals, recall and other patient needs.
Assist other medical services staff with patient flow as needed and/or directed.
Assist with supply management and appropriate stocking of exam rooms.
Maintain proper sanitation standards, according to YNHS procedure, both with cleaning and sterilization procedures of patient facilities and instruments.
Administer procedures as directed by supervisors and in accordance with Washington State Health Care Assistant regulations.
Maintain organized, clean, efficient and confidential work area.
Represent YNHS in local meetings as requested.
Perform related work and other tasks as requested.
