About The Position

For more than 50 years, St. Anthony North Hospital has delivered optimal health care to the communities of Westminster, Erie, Brighton, Broomfield, Northglenn and Thornton. The campus includes 60,000 square feet of integrated primary and specialty care physician clinics, an ambulatory surgery center, a birthing center with private birthing suites, a Level III Trauma Center with 24/7 emergency services, over 150 inpatient beds, and an outpatient diagnostics center with lab and imaging services. In 2023, the hospital received its Magnet designation. Built on the pillars of convenience, wellness, and person-centered care, St. Anthony North Hospital offers inpatient and outpatient care at one site, with an emphasis on preventive health, wellness, and health education. Certified Medical Assistants are essential to delivering whole person care to patients. The organization offers a Medical Assistant Clinical Ladder to support growth and development and values MAs as highly-valued team members with an important voice. MAs, in partnership with clinic staff and operations, have created a structured approach to a more effective, efficient work day with appropriate workloads and a clearer path for professional development. Additionally, one of the first-ever MA Apprenticeship programs has been established with an accredited local college to educate and prepare future MAs for success.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D., required
  • Medical Assistant certification or registration from an approved organization (American Association of Medical Assistant (AAMA), American Medical Technologist (AMT), National Healthcare Association (NHA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)), required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association, required

Responsibilities

  • Assume a supportive role and have responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
  • Promote the optimal health, well-being, and safety of the patient in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines, and the delegation of medical services as defined by State Medical Practice Act.
  • Perform a variety of clinical tasks as directed by an authorized health care provider in accordance with the Physician Group Scope of Practice.
  • Assist with front office duties and scheduling of tests and/or patient appointments.
  • Ensure accurate chart documentation and medical record maintenance.
  • Attend / conduct in-service presentations and seminars to facilitate personal and professional growth.
  • Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
