About The Position

Urology Clinics of North Texas is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support to physicians and APPs in their Dallas-Fort Worth area clinics. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and adherence to clinical protocols.   • Knowledge of medical office methods and procedures.
  • Ability to perform specimen collection, vital signs, urinalysis, catheterization, and instrument sterilization.
  • Basic computer skills and an understanding of the practice's EMR/PM and Document Management Systems.
  • Maintain MA certification and required CEUs.
  • Active Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Opening the clinic, including unlocking doors, turning on lights, starting computers, chart prep, opening exam rooms, testing urine controls, and turning on equipment.
  • Surgery scheduling.
  • Maintaining efficient patient flow for the provider.
  • Answering incoming calls requiring MA assistance and discussing acute symptoms with the physician when necessary.
  • Returning patient calls and processing prescriptions in a timely manner.
  • Processing and documenting all prescriptions in the patient's EHR.
  • Documenting calls and any outside communications in the patient's record in EHR.
  • Performing tests or tasks assigned by the Provider.
  • Preparing and assisting the Provider with exams and procedures.
  • Cleaning, preparing, and stocking exam rooms, lab area, and restroom daily.
  • Preparing specimens for the lab as necessary.
  • Adhering to the lab insurance matrix for all specimens to be sent out.
  • Administering injections and drawing blood using aseptic technique.
  • Cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing instruments daily.
  • Performing catheterization using sterile technique.
  • Documenting all necessary MA workflow in the appropriate EHR templates.
  • Completing reports for missing results as given by the Administrator.
  • Completing all logs required by OSHA within the time frame as outlined by OSHA (e.g., exam room cleaning logs, freezer temp log, eye wash station log, fridge temp log).
  • Managing and maintaining any CLIA requirements as necessary.
  • Managing and maintaining all OSHA standards.
  • Maintaining stock of all medical supplies necessary for clinic use.
  • Placing orders with Henry Schein or notifying the Administrator of supply needs.
  • Completing/processing all prior authorizations for medications.
  • Completing/processing all Title 19s as needed.
  • Completing Letter of Medical Necessity as needed.
  • Performing chart take down daily/weekly as needed.
  • Placing all PHI and any reports that have not previously been scanned in the appropriate scan bins for staff to scan.
  • Ensuring all chart notes are in patient charts for the providers assisted during the week and shredding dictation notes once verified.
  • Ensuring all files in exam rooms and providers' files are stocked on a weekly basis or daily if needed.
  • Performing weekly spore testing for the autoclave.
  • Maintaining cystoscope pressure testing/cleaning/sterilization station daily with proper documentation.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the supply and sample cabinet.
  • Notifying the call center of physician schedule changes.
  • Completing all patient phone calls by the end of each day.
  • Scheduling outpatient or inpatient surgeries or services as assigned.
  • Performing any tasks, duties, or special projects as assigned by the Administrator.

Benefits

  • $1,000 bonus paid in two payments ($500 at 6 months, $500 at 1 year, contingent on good standing and meeting expectations on evaluations).
