About The Position

This is a full-time Certified Medical Assistant position requiring a high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited medical assistant program, and certification as a Medical Assistant. The role involves assisting providers with treatments, patient interviews, vital sign measurement, EMR system documentation, basic clerical duties, materials management, and transcribing patient orders. The position is located in person and operates on a Monday to Friday schedule.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization with completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (MA).
Possess a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
Ability to communicate effectively and maintain working relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to prioritize needs and plan work accordingly.
Knowledge of HIPPA.
Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred)
BLS Certification (Preferred)

Responsibilities

Assist with treatments ordered by provider as supervised by provider or registered nurse.
Performs select clinical duties.
Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' chart and EMR system.
Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone and maintaining records.
Performing basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies.
Assisting with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
Documenting the provider's encounter with patients.
Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider.
Transcribes patient orders including, but not limited to, laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications.
