About The Position

North Alabama Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to join their team. This role is vital in the mission of making communities healthier. The Medical Assistant will contribute to patient care by performing diagnostic procedures, collecting specimens, monitoring patient conditions, documenting care, maintaining equipment and supplies, and managing examination areas. Administrative and clerical duties such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration are also part of the role.

Requirements

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• High School diploma
• CCMA, CMA or RMA REQUIRED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) obtain within 60 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
• Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition.
• Documents patient care given.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
• Maintains examination areas.
• Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
