Certified Medical Assistants will assist providers and other clinical staff with obtaining basic vital information, preparing patients for examination, treatment, and minor surgical procedures. They are responsible for tracking systems for follow-up appointments related to office visits, laboratory tests, and procedures to regularly monitor patients' disease status. This role involves scheduling referrals for patients with specialists or outpatient services as requested by the provider and completing appropriate forms or requisitions needed for referrals or lab testing, including appropriate CPT/ICD-10 coding. Additionally, they will answer patient and family member questions and provide teaching.
