Certified Medical Assistant - Pediatric Allergy/Immunology Clinic - Days
About The Position
The Certified Medical Assistant provides direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and the plan of care under the direction of the physician. This role involves functioning under the direction of a licensed independent practitioner, manager, and/or RN in providing patient care, emotional support, and problem-solving, all in accordance with hospital, nursing, and unit policy/procedure. Job duties may include the handling, transportation, access to, and/or contact with medications and related supplies. The role requires the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and adapt to frequent change. Certified Medical Assistants work all three shifts, weekends, and holidays, with individual shift rotations and schedules established with the specific Nurse Manager/Practice Manager. Schedules, including requirements of shift rotations and hours of work, may be adjusted as necessary to meet clinic requirements.
Requirements
- Current Medical Assistant Certification through a recognized national professional association (e.g., AAMA, AMT, NHA, ARMA, NHA).
- One (1) year of medical assistant work experience within the last three (3) years if not a graduate of a medical assistant program.
- No work experience required if an individual is a graduate of a medical assistant program.
- Previous experience using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft and email.
- Demonstrated experience utilizing strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Ability to adapt to frequent change.
Nice To Haves
- Two (2) to three (3) years of previous experience as a Certified Medical Assistant.
- Previous experience in an academic health care environment.
- Graduation from a Medical Assisting training program from an accredited program of study (e.g., CAAHEP, ABHES).

Benefits
- Compensation Grade Range: $19.00 - $28.51
