About The Position

Alliance Spine & Pain, recognized by Atlanta Magazine, is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join one of their JCAHO-certified ambulatory surgery center teams. Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
High school diploma or equivalent required
At least 6 months of experience in a medical office
Current Basic Life Support (CPR AED) certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire

Nice To Haves

Pain management experience preferred
Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail

Responsibilities

Monitor the schedule for patient arrivals and escort patients to clinic rooms.
Prepare patients for appointments by collecting information and taking vital signs.
Document patient information and maintain workflow in electronic medical records.
Triage patients for providers and prepare prescriptions for signatures.
Process prior authorizations within 72 hours of receipt and notify patients of the status.
Clean, sanitize, and restock clinic rooms at the end of the day.
Prepare patients for visits in the Pre-Operative area, including collecting samples and vital signs.
Assist nurses with prescriptions and electronic medical record documentation.
Maintain the pre-operative area with necessary supplies and equipment.
Transport patients to and from the Operating Room and to their vehicles.
Clean and sanitize pre-operative and PACU rooms, and restock supplies.
Make post-operative calls to patients as required.
Respond to patient phone calls via Telephone Encounter.
