About The Position

Northwest Orthopaedic Specialists is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join their team and support providers in delivering high-quality, compassionate healthcare. The Medical Assistant will perform all general MA duties, including rooming patients, recording vital signs, entering/updating medications, and verifying allergies. They will work alongside Providers and RNs to assist with procedures and maintain accurate Electronic Health Records (EHR). This role involves working in all clinic areas and locations as assigned, with no nights, weekends, on-call, or major holidays. The position offers a Monday-Friday day shift schedule.

Requirements

  • Medical Assistant Certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required

Responsibilities

  • Educate pre/post-operative patients per Provider's instructions.
  • Draw and prepare injections, label as indicated, and record in EHR.
  • Assist all Providers with procedures such as casting/splints and removal of sutures/staples.
  • Open and prep exam rooms, stock as indicated.
  • Clean exam rooms and autoclave instruments between patients.
  • Complete medical history and update surgical information accurately on all post-operative patients.
  • Prep charts the day before or morning of surgery, including gathering ER notes, op-notes, office notes from other providers, reviewing present chart to assess document types needed, identifying indicated x-rays, and reading the provider’s previous notes for directions.
  • Perform sterile dressing changes.
  • Refill medications per provider protocols.
  • Direct questions to the specific provider.
  • Order tests – X-rays, CT, US, MRI, lab draws per provider’s request.
