About The Position

Marathon Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join their team. The Medical Assistant is a crucial part of the care team, collaborating with a primary care physician to provide outstanding patient care and an exceptional guest experience. In Marathon Health's unique model, Medical Assistants manage the entire patient journey, performing both Medical Receptionist duties and clinical responsibilities. This role involves direct patient interaction, clinical procedures, and administrative tasks to ensure a seamless healthcare experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care.
  • CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or other related program.
  • National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred.
  • MA certification or registration is required for employment in States where certification/registration is required.
  • Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to rooms and ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked.
  • Review previous medical information and gather updated health information from patients.
  • Take vital signs, perform blood draws, administer injections, bandage wounds, and assist with procedures.
  • Work with contracted labs for additional tests.
  • Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations as directed by the Provider.
  • Collaborate with the care team to develop individual patient plans of care and address gaps in care.
  • Perform front desk duties including patient scheduling, medical record requests and abstraction, documentation, coordinating specialist visits and referrals, check-in, and check-out.
  • Record accurate and pertinent data in the medical record according to documentation guidelines.
  • Process test results and communicate them to patients via e-message, mail, or phone as instructed by the Provider.
  • Participate in patient outreach to drive engagement.
  • Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment.
