About The Position

This is a full-time Certified Medical Assistant position at a Family Care Clinic located in Bedford, TX. The clinic is fast-paced with opportunities for growth and development, offering a collaborative work environment focused on patient satisfaction. The role involves delivering patient care, performing general patient care procedures, preparing patients for providers, obtaining vital signs, performing routine tests like EKGs, scheduling and following up on diagnostic tests, documenting patient care plans and results, communicating with patients about results, maintaining exam rooms, escalating issues, ensuring safety and privacy, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED)
CMA - Current Medical Assistant Certification (REQUIRED)
Successful completion of THPG Clinical Training (CT) educational program with demonstrated competency in required skills - within 90 days of job entry (REQUIRED)
BCLS with 90 days of hire date (REQUIRED)
Proficient computer skills using medical management application systems
Effectively communicate with staff and patients
Thorough knowledge of the meaning and use of medical terminology and abbreviations
Demonstrate sound judgement in emergency situations
Take appropriate action in urgent circumstances
Maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward staff and patients
Possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism

Nice To Haves

One year of experience as a Medical Assistant (preferred)
NCT - Non-Certified Radiologic Technician training may be required upon hire (PREFERRED)
New Grads are Welcome with Completed Onsite Externship

Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Certified Medical Assistant Process
Performs general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider.
Obtains and records vital signs including, but not limited to: blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.
Perform routine tests such as EKG.
Schedules patients for diagnostic testing and follows up to ensure completion of testing.
Documents patient plan(s) of care, tests and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider.
Communicates with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by physician.
Keeps patient exam rooms stocked, clean and orderly.
Escalates non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns to the practice manager or healthcare provider(s).
Ensures safety checklists/quality controls are completed as required.
Provides for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights.
Perform other duties as assigned by practice manager, more senior staff, or as requested by healthcare provider(s).
