Our clinic at Gottlieb in Melrose Park is looking for a CMA who is a great team player, patient-centered and who loves working in Family Medicine and Specialties. This is a full-time position with 5 8-hour shifts per week, Monday through Friday, with varied start times. Loyola Medicine, a member of Trinity Health, is a nationally ranked academic, quaternary care system based in Chicago's western suburbs. The certified Medical Assistant utilizes a defined skill set consistent with the basic educational program, certification, and relevant work experience to deliver direct care to the patient in the ambulatory setting. Working under the direct supervision/licensure of the physician, the Medical Assistant is an integral member of the health care team and is responsible for coordinating the pre/intra/post aspects of the medical visit. This includes direct care, registration & scheduling, physician-patient communication, and other office-related tasks. Additionally, the Medical Assistant will administer medication and work directly with other health professionals at the site, as well as ancillary departments and services, to coordinate care. Direct care involves providing care to the patient and support to the physician throughout the entire visit, from arrival at the reception desk through check-out. This includes history taking, assisting with routine tasks and procedures, telephone messaging, scheduling, and visit follow-up orders. The Medical Assistant works under the supervision of a registered professional nurse when additional skill, assessment, and expertise are needed, or in the absence of the physician.
