The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will deliver care to patients in an Infectious Care Clinic, performing general patient care by following established standards and procedures. This role involves greeting and preparing patients, obtaining and recording vital signs, administering ordered medications and/or vaccines, and potentially drawing blood samples and performing routine tests like EKGs. The CMA will also schedule diagnostic testing, document patient plans of care, and communicate test results to patients. Responsibilities include preparing, cleaning, and sterilizing instruments, maintaining equipment, disposing of contaminated items, and keeping exam rooms stocked and orderly. The role may also involve front office duties and other tasks as assigned.
